Boating in the San Juan Islands | Westcott Bay Shellfish Co.

One of my favorite spots to drop the anchor in the San Juan Islands is likely Garrison Bay. I like the great holding bottom, the hike up Young Hill, and the overall history of the place.  Another thing I like – it’s just around the corner from Westcott Bay and the Westcott Bay Shellfish Co.

I remember visiting the shellfish farm several years ago, when the place had fallen into disrepair prior closing for a while.  Since 2013, new owners Erik and Andrea Anderson have poured a ton of work into the farm, making it a place that is a pleasure to visit.

In my latest video, I visit the Westcott Bay Shellfish Co., where I meet the folks who work the farm and enjoy some of their tasty shellfish.  Check it out!

Cruising Desolation Sound: Episode 4

The fourth episode brings the exciting conclusion to my Cruising Desolation Sound series. In this episode, our little flotilla visits Tribune Bay at Hornby Island before turning toward home.

I really enjoyed shooting and creating this video series showing highlights from an absolutely wonderful trip.  The videos show only a glimpse into the good times with good friends.  I hope you enjoyed following along.

Cruising Desolation Sound: Episode 3

In the third episode of my Cruising Desolation Sound series, we set out to look for a new anchorage and make some friends along the way.  We live the “resort life” at Gorge Harbour for a day before returning to anchor at Tenados Bay.  As the trip begins to wind down, we start toward home…  I hope you’ve enjoyed these videos – stay tuned as Episode 4 is just around the corner!

Cruising Desolation Sound: Episode 1

I’ve just returned from a wonderful trip cruising to Desolation Sound.  We were blessed with great weather – although a little smoky at the beginning, due to the wildfires in the BC Interior.

My cameras captured parts of the journey, and I’m excited to present the first episode of the multi-part series.  “Stay tuned” for next video in the series to follow along with the fun!

I hope you enjoy this video and the others that will follow in the series, as I continue to learn more about shooting, editing, and storytelling through video.
